Playgroup Visit

We enjoyed making Christmas cards with the children from playgroup on Wednesday and Thursday morning this week. We seemed so grown up compared to them!

Story Maps

Look at our fabulous storymaps for 'The Owl Babies'. We are really enjoying this story and love joining in when Bill says "I want my mummy!".

Clay Owls

Today we have been making owls with the clay. We have rolled, squashed, squeezed and pulled the clay to make the body and then used tools to make marks and patterns in the clay.

We've been looking at our shadows today in the lovely sunshine. We tried to catch each others shadows and jump on them!

Pyjamas and Breakfast!

Thank you to all the mums, dads, grandparents and nieces who joined us for breakfast this morning- everyone looked great in their pyjamas! It's a shame we can't do it every Friday morning  :-(     Have a good weekend everyone!

Adding Work

We've been learning a counting rhyme this week and using it to help us add and take away.

Kitty Cat came from a nearby bush ... MEOW!
Gave the garden gate a push... SQUEAK!

Autumn Jobs- watering

This afternoon we planted the last broccoli and cabbage plants and then watered them all.

Autumn Jobs- weeding!

Before we could do our planting we needed to weed our vegetable patch. We found some new friends- 2 slugs and 1 wriggly worm. We also found some weeds with VERY long roots!

Wriggly Worm
Slug number 1
Slug number 2
Very long roots!

Autumn Jobs- Planting!

After we finished weeding we started planting.
First we dug holes using the trowels.  Then we held our plant carefully and placed it in the hole. Next we put the soil back over the roots.  Finally we firmed the soil around our plants with our hands.

Autumn Pictures

We went to see if Peter Rabbit lived in our school grounds today. We didn't find Peter but we found lots of leaves and twigs which we brought back to the classroom to make pictures!
